The fantastical fanatical world of Final Fantasy

The dangers of crossing a Tonberry.

The Tonberry is a recurring adversary in the Final Fantasy series, making its first appearance in FF V.  Although small in size, do not be fooled by its cute exterior.  This deadly green terror is more dangerous than you can fathom, & nearly invincible.
This robed creature carries only two items; the old lantern; & the knife.
This enemy has a fearless stride in battle, walking only a single step each turn.  Although it spends a long time getting close enough to use its blade, it has a counter-attack (the lamp).  Whenever this little green monster is attacked it will counter with Everyone’s Grudge; a move that damages its attackers based on how many enemies that character has slain.  So it proves that it gets more difficult as your character gets stronger.
The thing to really watch out for, though, is when it finally gets close enough, it will use its chef’s knife, which may cause considerable damage, or instantly kill your character. (Now, if you’ve played FFXIII, you will know that your main character dying can be a huge inconvenience).
The trick to defeating these dwarven terrorists is to land big hits on them in as little turns as possible.
